This workshop, "Flipping the Switch: Compassion Fatigue to Compassion Satisfaction," is designed for individuals in the human services field. It addresses the personal toll that supporting others can take, leading to issues like compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.
The training focuses on shifting from these challenges towards compassion satisfaction and resilience. Participants will learn to identify compassion fatigue, understand its contributing factors, signs, and symptoms, and differentiate it from related concepts like vicarious trauma, secondary traumatic stress, and burnout. Crucially, the workshop emphasizes the importance of compassion satisfaction and resilience for overall well-being. Attendees will leave with practical knowledge on how to nurture their own well-being and will develop a simple, actionable support plan for use at work and home, enabling them to continue providing excellent support to those they serve without sacrificing their own health.
